Spirit of Giving

 

"We make a living by what we get -- but we make a life by what we give..."

There exists within each of us on some level a spirit of giving. How we give and of course what we give is often left to the individual. But wanting to make a difference and "change the world" is a personal focus that I wish to demonstrate in some form as a part of my every day life. Whether by means of paying it forward, donating monetary causes to a worthwhile charity or organization, or simply donating my time or services.

I have met many giving individuals over the years that have had tremendous impact on me in some way, shape or form by their spirit of giving. Some may have realized it while others most likely did not. After all, it was a part of their nature so they never paused in helping out a fellow person.

 

There was Ramona in Arizona who needlessly gave herself in so many ways when I was having personal problems. Just as their those strangers on the streets of Anchorage that helped push me out of a snow bank after getting stuck in a snowstorm.

It was each of these individuals that have contributed something to shape the views I have today.
